Ever since I was a kid I wanted my very own playhouse, big enough for just me. Read more
Long story short, a lumber yard was going out of business in our town and my wife was able to get a decent amount of wooden pallets for next to nothing. They were just lying around because she couldn’t get around to starting her own DIY project. So I ended up just using them because I too had some creative things that needed to be done. (just kidding I asked her for them and she said I could have them).
Now I didn’t have a clue how to start to build this little house, I watched so many episodes of architecturalshows to see if I could figure out how to add something special. I definately did not want a boringsquare looking house…I needed a spark for something different!
I knew what I would do for the inside of the house already, so that was one hurdle jumped. Eventually, I created my tiny home design floor plans and started the process of lightly staining wood pallets, making wooden windows with creative outlines. My tiny home hascurves and flower gardens built into the walls outside of the house and I made the window space for the panes in diamond shapes since I felt it gave a more authentic fairy feel to it.
The building of this playhouse took me about 3 weeks and I kept the integrity of the wood intact, I used no paint at all, i just put it smack dab in the middle of the trees and it colored by nature’s accessories. Now I am the favorite parent and my kids love their new playhouse!
